The Science of Nature

The Science of Nature is an expansion of my grow your own garden service and is a series of activities aimed at families with children ages 5-11 to explore nature in a more fun and in-depth way that takes you on a tour of nature in a unique and exciting way.


Join me in exploring nature through investigation, builds, arts and cooking as I aim to make Science fun for the next generation.

Family Nature Walks

These 1-hour sessions take you and your children on an investigative tour of the beautiful flora and fauna in our fields, hedgerows and gardens.


Together we'll learn how to identify, draw and observe the ecosystems around us as well as learn how to be safe and respectful in a wild environment.


Cost: £30 per family group

Build with me

These 90-minute sessions focus on creating your very own miniature ecosystems that you can create, take home and plant in gardens or on patios to create a special place for nature and encourage a variety of insects and pollinators that you can investigate at home.


Choose from:

  1. Edible habitats
  2. Wild Flowers

Includes all equipment required to build your chosen system.


Cost: £40 per family group

Sweet Science!

These 1-hour sessions are not only fun-filled but are also edible!


Choose from one of the following:


  1. Edible DNA - create and explore our DNA and understand why it makes us unique and special in our own ways.
  2. What's in a cell? - Build and compare Animal and Plant cells and play "spot the difference".
  3. Where's my honeycomb!? - Learn the language of the Bees by learning how to communicate like one and learn about the wonders of Baking Soda as we learn to build our own honeycomb pieces.

Habitat and Wildlife Lessons

Suitable for family groups with children aged 5-11, my 1-hour lessons introduce your children to the natural world by exploring the beautiful flora and fauna in our hedgerows and gardens.


Together we'll learn how to identify, draw and observe the habitats and wildlife around us as well as learn how things are connected in nature and how to be safe and respectful in a wild environment.


Cost: £30 per family group.

Edible Habitat Starter Kit

These 90-minute sessions focus on creating your very own edible habitat from a selection of plants that help to create a self sufficient space that you can create, take home and plant in gardens or on patios to create a special place for nature and encourage a variety of insects and pollinators that you can investigate at home. 


Choose from a selection of seasonal plants and seeds to create your space for nature that also provides food you.


Includes all equipment required to build your habitat.
